Win the 30 seconds that determine the future of your relationships.
You know how to make decisions. You know how to build. You know how to bet on an idea before anyone else can see it. But what happens when something hits a nerve?
Your partner says one sentence.
Your cofounder questions your decision.
An investor challenges your judgment.
A member of your team disappoints you.
Your body reacts before you have decided who you want to be in the conversation. You defend. You withdraw. You become controlling. You keep explaining. You agree to something you do not want, then resent it later. The next 30 seconds change the entire relationship.
Your success did not automatically teach you how to relate.
You have upgraded your strategy. Your network. Your business model. Your ability to recognize opportunity. But you may still be using the same protective responses you developed years before you became successful.
Those responses may have helped you become independent, driven, persuasive, and difficult to defeat. They may also be limiting the depth of your relationships.
Because the instinct that helps you win an argument may lose the person.
The instinct that helps you maintain control may prevent other people from trusting you.
The instinct that protects you from rejection may create the distance you were trying to avoid.
You do not need another conversation about what you should do. You need to recognize your pattern while it is happening and choose what happens next.
We call this emotional activation.
Emotional activation is the moment something hits a nerve and your body prepares you to protect yourself.
Your jaw tightens.
Your chest contracts.
Your voice changes.
Your mind begins building a case.
You feel the urge to defend, withdraw, take control, fix everything, or keep everyone happy. Most men do not recognize that moment until the reaction has already happened.
Beyond The Man Box trains you to recognize it sooner. Not ten minutes later. Not during the apology. Inside the 30 seconds that determine the conversation.
What you will learn to do.
Over three months, you will learn to:
- Recognize what you feel before it becomes a reaction
- Identify the physical warning signs that appear when something hits a nerve
- Understand what drives your anger, defensiveness, withdrawal, control, or people-pleasing
- Communicate your needs before frustration becomes resentment
- Set boundaries without becoming aggressive or controlling
- Listen without immediately preparing your defense
- Repair conflict before distance becomes disconnection
- Build self-worth beyond achievement, status, and what you provide
- Respond according to your values when your protective instincts want to take over
- Develop a way of being a man that is authentically your own
You will not simply learn the language. You will use it in your company, marriage, friendships, family, and relationship with yourself.
“Beyond The Man Box saved my relationship.”
Bash and his partner were already in couples therapy. He realized that if he did not change how he responded during conflict, they were not going to make it.
“When we got into arguments, I used to think that as long as I could explain what I meant and make her understand it, she would calm down, the conversation could be over, and we could move on. That never worked. Jason taught me to start with curiosity first, rather than defending myself. By leading with curiosity, I have curiosity about my partner but also about myself. I ask myself: ‘What could she have been thinking?’ or ‘Why did I react like that? What triggered me?’”
“Now we have put parameters around ourselves so it does not get crazy anymore. We have a safe word for when it gets heated. I pay more attention to my body. The graphs Jason gave us have given me the opportunity to visualize and have language for the things I was feeling.”
“If my reactions feel disproportionate, I get to ask myself things like ‘Am I misunderstanding this?’ or ‘Is this bringing up something from my past?’ It has helped me be a way better person and a way better boyfriend, which was my primary motivation for doing this retreat.”
The group is part of the method.
You cannot develop relational intelligence alone. You need other people — people who think differently, communicate differently, challenge you, and see what you cannot see from inside your own experience.
Inside this cohort you train alongside founders, entrepreneurs, investors, and senior leaders who have already proven they know how to build. They are here to build something more difficult: a life where success does not require emotional distance, leadership does not require control, and strength does not require pretending nothing affects you.
You will practice difficult conversations in real time. You will receive direct feedback. You will learn to remain present through disagreement, hear another person's experience without defending your intentions, and express what you need without aggression or avoidance.
The man you are alone is not always the man who appears when another person challenges, disappoints, rejects, or needs something from you. That man can only be trained in relationship with other people.
“I think about those sessions every day.”
“I usually hate role-plays, so I was dreading them. I was super uncomfortable, but Jason talked me through it. He made me feel safe to make mistakes and show my discomfort. Once we got to the other side, I felt empowered to have those conversations in my real life, and they have all gone so much better than I expected.”
At work, Zak began addressing a recurring disagreement directly. He and his colleague now reach a resolution every time. In his friendships, he stopped silently resenting people for emotionally unloading on him and began asking for space to share what was happening in his own life.
The Beyond The Man Box Method™
The cohort moves through five stages:
- 01
Expose the rule
Identify the masculinity rules that taught you what you must prove, hide, control, tolerate, or handle alone to remain respected, loved, safe, or worthy.
- 02
Trace its influence
See how those rules shaped your identity, self-worth, leadership, emotions, and relationships.
- 03
Decode the protective pattern
Understand what is happening beneath your defensiveness, aggression, withdrawal, control, fixing, overexplaining, accommodation, or emotional distance.
- 04
Interrupt the automatic response
Recognize the pattern before it determines what happens next.
- 05
Practice a different response
Learn to respond according to your identity, integrity, and values when you feel criticized, rejected, embarrassed, ignored, controlled, or afraid.
You do not become a different man by deciding once. You become him through practice.

This is not a video course.
It is not a weekly conversation about feelings.
It is not three months of collecting ideas you never use.
This is live training for the moments that determine the caliber of your relationships.
You have already invested in what you can build.
This is an investment in the man doing the building. The man leading the company. The man choosing the partner. The man entering the conversation. The man deciding what happens in those 30 seconds.
Three months of training and real-life practice designed to turn a different way of responding into the way you actually live.

Before you apply.
How does the virtual cohort work?
The cohort meets live each week for three months. Every session combines instruction, personal reflection, live practice, direct feedback, and coaching using situations from the men's actual lives.
Is this therapy?
No. Beyond The Man Box is a structured training experience focused on emotional awareness, relational intelligence, communication, conflict repair, identity, and brotherhood.
Who is in the cohort?
The cohort is designed for founders, entrepreneurs, investors, and senior leaders who are serious about how they lead, love, communicate, and move through conflict.
How much does the cohort require outside the sessions?
You will bring the work into your real relationships throughout the three months. This is where the transformation happens. You will notice your patterns, use the tools, have different conversations, and return ready to examine what happened.
What happens after I apply?
You will be invited to a private conversation about what has been happening in your leadership and relationships, what you want to change, and whether the cohort is the right environment for that work.
Apply for a private conversation.
If you are ready to examine your patterns, practice new responses, receive direct feedback, and take responsibility for the caliber of your relationships — we will discuss what has been happening, what you want to change, and whether this cohort is the right room for you.
